About the photograph - 12 Bens from Inishbofin

7 miles off the coast of Connemara lies the island of Inishbofin, meaning island of the white cow, but I can't remember seeing any white cows during my visit. While exploring the island on a pretty overcast day, I came across this wonderful scene of an old pathway and dry stone wall leading up to a couple of hills and once your eye is there, you are rewarded with the 12 Bens mountains in the background. I also like the colour of the grass in the diffused light that provides contrast to the grey elements in the scene such as the wall, mountains, and sky.
Inishbofin has stunning coastal scenery, spectacular walks and beaches with crystal clear waters along with a rich history. I think it's definitely worth a visit when you are in Connemara. Visitor information can be found here http://www.inishbofin.com/
