About the photograph - Glassilaun Beach Autumn

 

 

I wanted a beach shot and I had heard about Glassilaun Beach and went to see for myself. I wasn't disappointed. Soft golden sand nestled in a horseshoe shaped bay with superb mountain views, terrific scenes no matter which direction I looked.This was a beach that I wanted to photograph.

 

I was thinking about the shot and what I wanted to include, when I noticed the big black rain cloud approaching. Contrasting with the golden sand and the blue sky, it had to be included. I also wondered how much time I had to get the shot before I'd be running for cover. 

 

Looking at the photograph always makes me think of the old adage about the weather in Ireland..."four seasons in one day". OK, it's not quite four seasons, but that's where it takes me.
