About the photograph - Les Pompiers du Marathon de Paris

 

 

A number of years ago I had the good fortune to cover a group of lads raising money for charity. Their event called "Le Trip" was to run the Paris marathon, then cycle to Rotterdam and then run that marathon, all in one week. I'm delighted to say they achieved their goal and raised a lot of money for a worthy charity.

 

This photograph was taken during the Paris marathon at one of our many per-determined locations along the route in case the guys needed anything. At each one of them I was blown away by the amount of runners, supporters, and well wishers. But I have to say that this particular location stood out because of the initiative that the firemen used to support the runners and also get a a great view of the race.
