About the photograph - Sydney Opera House 2019

Close up view of Sydney Opera House shell shaped roof with white tiles
I was on assignment in Brisbane, Australia and found myself with some free time. So I decided to visit Sydney and see some of Australia’s most famous landmarks. One of which was the Sydney Opera House.

I've grown up seeing many images of the Opera House and I absolutely love the iconic shell shape roof. But what I never knew until I got up close and personal, is that the roof is covered in tiles. 1,056,006 cream and white ceramic tiles to be precise.

If ever I was wondering how I would photograph this building, there were now two subjects of interest, the tiles and the curves. I really like how this photograph captures both.
