About the photograph - Glashydevet Forest

Exploring the edge of Dongal's Bluestack Mountain range one evening I found that I was surrounded by managed forests. I was thinking that I wanted to get a shot of the forest that conveyed a sense of collective. Trees by there very nature tend to be large and it is difficult to step back and stop seeing them individually. At this stage the light from the evening sun was lovely, but unfortunately wasn't penetrating the tall trees which were already beginning to cast dark shadows. So I decided to take to the air to see if a different perspective would show the collective nature of a forest as well as use the evening light.
After a while I did manage to find a composition and lighting that I liked.
