About the photograph - Beach Life Glassilaun, Connemara

A young woman takes a leisurely summer afternoon stroll along a quiet Glassilaun Beach in Connemara, Ireland.
Spending a whole afternoon on this beach wasn't long enough. I was completely
captivated by the pastels colours of the scene contrasted by the
sparkling reflections of the summer sun in the water. I felt I needed a
subject to make the shot work, but the beach was surprisingly quiet for a
summer afternoon. Then I spotted a young woman strolling along the
beach lost in her thoughts. I composed the shot in my head and just had
to wait for her to reach the perfect spot for the shot. Thankfully I was rewarded for my patience.
Glassilaun Beach is definitely one of the most striking of all the
beaches in Connemara. It's soft white sand beach is situated in an
extremely picturesque location, nestled in a horseshoe shaped bay near
the southern entrance to Killary Fjord. With superb mountain views and
it is a beautiful stop along the Wild Atlantic Way.
