About the photograph

The west of Ireland can be a pretty wet place and Connemara is no different. While exploring Inagh Valley, I had to run for cover as a heavy rain shower moved in. After a short while the rain moved on and with a little break in the clouds a strong rainbow forms across the Lough Inagh. There's no planning here, just lucky that i had the camera in hand to be able to photograph it. I really like how the rainbow's vivid colours and sunlit bank in the foreground contrast against the rain and the darkened mountain in the background.
